The Tuscumbia Railway Museum, Tuscumbia, Alabama is located at the old downtown train station and freight depot. Hill & Jangaard Architects, P.C. developed a two-phase expansion program for the museum. The first phase includes a museum building with a design based on recreating the appearance of a 19th ceuntury roundhouse and will be connected by railroad tracks to an original locomotive turntable. The building will house a steam locomotive and related displays. The second phase will include construction of a theater housed in a replica of a 19th century rail car, the outdoor train display areas and an operating train station. Track will be constructed connecting the train station to the turntable and roundhouse allowing locomotives and coaches to move on the site.
