Historic rehabilitation of the original 1871 building of the Mars Hill Academy. Deteriorated porches were rebuilt to match the design shown in 19th century photographs. Other work included structural foundation repairs, plasterwork, painting and flooring repairs. The restoration work was consistent with the U.S. Department of Interior Preservation Briefs. The project was completed in 2001 at a cost of $77,000.
